If you want real help, don’t look outward for a rescue story—turn inward and make contact. The Transmissions teach you that prayer is not performance, not ritual, and not a long recital meant to impress some distant authority. Prayer is an inner act. It is the way you align your Personality with Essence and Self so that the Light and Love already present in creation can actually move through you. When you understand this, you stop treating prayer like a religious habit and start using it as a living link to your true Being.
You weaken prayer the moment you treat it as a transaction. It is useless to pray for material things, because prayer is not of the outer world. Your work is not to rearrange the Astral Illusion; your work is to change your own consciousness. When you pray from covetousness, fear, or expectation, you remain bound to the very forces that keep you asleep. But when you pray from the heart—simple, sincere, and direct—you restore the proper order: you ask for help in becoming united with your inner being, for guidance, for understanding, and for strength to overcome the negative “I’s” that rule your Personality.
Keep it short. Keep it real. A deep and sincere prayer takes only a brief time to reach Essence—because Essence is you, and in true understanding there is no separation and no delay. Long prayers can lose depth and sincerity, becoming words without power. Instead, pause several times during the day. Step out of the rush for a few seconds. Turn your thought and feeling toward your Essence. Ask for guidance. Offer gratitude. Then return to your activity—confident that you only need to allow what is right to be done. This is living faith, not wishful thinking.
And yes—this is your “daily bread.” The teachings speak of the Bread of Life as the power of Eternal Love, the nourishment your being needs again and again. When you repeatedly direct your desire away from the sensory pull of the world and toward Essence, your inner being is fed. You begin to feel the warmth of Love and the quiet strength of peace. The problem that seemed so heavy loosens its grip—not because you forced it, but because your consciousness moved out of the Illusion’s tangle and back into alignment with Self.
So pray like a conscious being, not like a beggar at a distant gate. Pray with gratitude instead of demand. Pray with trust instead of expectation. Pray from the Emotional Centre, where sincerity lives, and let the words fall away if they’re not needed. Do this regularly, and you will feel what the Transmissions promise: attachment to the Illusion begins to break, inner guidance becomes natural, and your day becomes inspired—not because life becomes perfect, but because you are no longer alone inside yourself.
